HOWARD CARTER Associates was established in Monterey in 1955 and has provided over 55 years of quality Structural Engineering services to the Monterey Peninsula and Central Coast areas.

We have completed thousands of projects in Northern and Southern California, Arizona, Washington and the East Coast. Our staff includes Registered Structural Engineers, Registered Civil Engineers, and LEED accredited professionals, each with knowledge and experience to design and manage large and complex projects. Each of our Engineers use and are experienced in CADD.

We keep abreast of new design, materials, and construction techniques, and use them when applicable. Because we have an understanding of both Architecture and Engineering, we are able to advise our clients on how to attain their desired results with the most economical and effective Structural System.

HOWARD CARTER Associates has extensive experience in the evaluation, repair, seismic upgrade, and design of all types of buildings. We are familiar with current design and repair technologies as required for each unique application.

HOWARD CARTER Associates, Inc., has an excellent performance record with government agencies and private industry in terms of quality of work provided for bid documents, cost control, and compliance with performance schedules. The firm recognizes the importance of completing projects to meet the client's objectives. We have developed a comprehensive staff utilization program to track current project stages of completion and monitor staff commitments. This is done on a weekly basis. Prior to committing staff to upcoming projects, management reviews staffing commitments to verify availability of individuals for the anticipated time frame. We have gained the confidence and cooperation of the Contractors and Inspectors during the construction phase of projects by being organized, giving prompt response to field problems, and quick and reasonable resolutions to field situations unique to each project.

Because of our Coastal California location in Monterey and our many years here, we have become acutely familiar with the Coastal Zoning, Environmental and Government building and Land Use requirements, and understanding the unique nature of projects on the Monterey Peninsula. We are sensitive to these issues and are able to respond effectively to the unique challenges of the coastal environment.
